Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the GUS mobile application, website, and related services.
GUS is operated by Dmitrii Tsariabin, an independent individual developer (“GUS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using GUS, you agree to these Terms.
1. The GUS service
GUS provides tools intended to help users decide what to cook based on ingredients they already have. The service may allow a user to photograph ingredients or kitchen items, identify visible foods, generate dish ideas, surface recipe suggestions, and access related functionality.
2. Informational service only
GUS is an informational tool. GUS does not guarantee that every ingredient is correctly identified, every recipe is complete or accurate, every suggested dish is appropriate for your dietary needs, or that any suggested preparation method is suitable for your circumstances.
3. AI-generated results
Some GUS results may be generated or assisted by artificial intelligence. AI systems can make mistakes, including incorrectly identifying ingredients, omitting ingredients, misunderstanding product packaging, or suggesting incomplete or unsuitable dishes. You are responsible for evaluating GUS’s output before relying on it.
4. No medical, dietary, or professional advice
GUS does not provide medical, nutritional, allergy, or other professional advice. If you have allergies, dietary restrictions, intolerances, or medical conditions, you must independently verify ingredients, recipe suitability, and food safety.
5. Food safety and allergy responsibility
You are solely responsible for checking expiration dates, ingredient labels, allergen information, cooking times, internal temperatures, cross-contamination risks, and safe preparation methods. Never rely solely on GUS for food-safety decisions.
6. Eligibility
You may use GUS only if doing so is lawful where you are located. If you are below the age required to enter into an enforceable agreement in your jurisdiction, you may use GUS only with permission from a parent or legal guardian where required.
7. Permission to use your scans
You retain any rights you may have in photographs or other content you submit to GUS.
By submitting a scan or photograph, you grant GUS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, analyze, transform, and transmit that content as reasonably necessary to provide the requested scan, identify ingredients, generate dish and recipe suggestions, operate and maintain the service, maintain security, troubleshoot errors, and improve GUS and its underlying systems.
8. What you should not upload
Do not intentionally use GUS to upload payment-card details, passwords or authentication codes, government identification documents, confidential business information, medical records, private communications, unlawful content, or content that violates another person’s rights. GUS is designed for ingredient and kitchen-related scans.
9. Acceptable use
You may not use GUS for unlawful purposes, interfere with or disrupt the service, bypass limits or security measures, access GUS through unauthorized automated systems, scrape or systematically extract data, probe systems for vulnerabilities without authorization, reverse engineer components except where applicable law expressly permits it, impersonate another person, upload malware, or abuse subscription, promotional, or free-use limits.
10. Subscriptions and paid features
GUS may offer subscriptions or other paid functionality. If you purchase a subscription through Apple App Store or Google Play, payment is processed by the applicable store, billing is subject to the terms of that store, subscriptions may automatically renew unless cancelled in accordance with store procedures, and refund eligibility is generally governed by the applicable app store’s policies and applicable law.
11. Third-party services
GUS relies on or integrates with third-party services, which may include cloud providers, AI providers, analytics and attribution providers, subscription-management systems, and application platforms. GUS is not responsible for third-party products, content, policies, outages, or representations.
12. Availability of GUS
We aim to keep GUS available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. The service may be unavailable because of maintenance, software errors, third-party outages, network problems, excessive demand, security incidents, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
13. Changes to the service
GUS is an evolving product. We may add, modify, remove, limit, or redesign features at any time.
14. Intellectual property
Except for content owned by users or third parties, GUS and its software, design, branding, interfaces, text, graphics, systems, and related intellectual property are owned by or licensed to the operator of GUS. These Terms do not transfer ownership of GUS intellectual property to you.
15. Feedback
If you voluntarily provide suggestions, ideas, comments, or other feedback concerning GUS, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.
16. Privacy
Our processing of information is described in the GUS Privacy Policy available at gus.quest/privacy.
17. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GUS is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We disclaim warranties not expressly required by law, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, and non-infringement.
18. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GUS and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of the service, including losses arising from inaccurate ingredient recognition, incomplete recipe suggestions, dietary incompatibility, food-safety issues, service interruptions, loss of data, or reliance on AI-generated results.
19. Suspension and termination
You may stop using GUS at any time. We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary because of violation of these Terms, suspected fraud or abuse, security risk, legal requirements, misuse of infrastructure, or conduct that materially harms GUS or other users.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the application, website, or another reasonable method when required. The “Last updated” date indicates the latest revision.
